Megaline — Plan Revenue Analysis
Analytical case study comparing two mobile plans using user behavior and plan rules to support a pricing/business decision.
The focus is on clean assumptions, clear metrics, and defensible conclusions.
Context & goal
Compare two plans and determine whether one generates significantly more revenue than the other, based on customer usage patterns.
Approach
- Data prep: cleaned usage tables, validated joins, and created monthly user-level aggregates
- Business logic: implemented plan rules to compute monthly revenue per user
- Analysis: compared distributions and summarized key drivers
- Statistics: used hypothesis testing (Welch's t-test) to compare plan revenue
Key findings
- Built a monthly revenue model by customer using plan rules and usage behavior (calls, texts, data).
- Compared revenue distributions across plans and summarized key usage drivers behind the differences.
- Used statistical testing (Welch's t-test) to support a defensible recommendation.
